02 / 06 — Context

BES V — Bridging European Science — is the fifth edition of an international event organized by RAICEX to connect researchers, institutions and professionals working across science, innovation, entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer. Held in Oslo, the event brings together participants from different countries for two days of talks, discussions and networking. I joined the project to organize a large volume of institutional and practical information and transform it into a clear digital experience for an international audience, focusing on participants' information needs, the website structure and the experience that would support them before and during the event.

03 / 06 — Challenge

The main challenge was transforming a large amount of fragmented content into an integrated and easy-to-navigate experience. The website needed to communicate the relevance of the event, present multiple thematic areas and provide practical information about the programme, venue, accommodation, organizers and registration — while serving participants from different countries through English and Spanish versions, remaining consistent across languages, devices and content updates. With a one-week timeline, the project required fast prioritization, a clear division of responsibilities and continuous alignment between content, design and development.

04 / 06 — Research

I began by reviewing the available event materials, the audiences involved and the information participants would need to understand the proposal and prepare their attendance. I analyzed references from international scientific events and mapped the main participant journeys — from first discovering BES V to exploring the programme, understanding its thematic areas, locating the venue, finding accommodation and accessing registration. The research showed that the website needed to address different levels of information: some visitors needed a quick understanding of the event's purpose, while others were looking for specific practical details to plan their participation. This helped me define a hierarchy that balanced institutional context, programme content and logistical information without turning the website into a dense repository.

05 / 06 — Solution

I structured the experience around participant-centered information architecture (organized according to the questions participants would have throughout their journey), programme and thematic content (structured so complex information could be scanned quickly), an international and bilingual experience (designed to work consistently in English and Spanish), and practical planning (venue, accommodation, organizers and registration integrated into the same journey). I collaborated closely with Julia Sprioli to translate the UX structure into the final interface and responsive implementation, working from the visual identity created by Taís Cardoso.

06 / 06 — Results

The final website brought together the essential BES V information within a single bilingual and responsive platform. Participants gained a clearer way to understand the event, explore its thematic areas and programme, plan their attendance and access registration. The project reduced the fragmentation of institutional and practical content while strengthening the event's digital presence and giving RAICEX a centralized communication platform.
